If a dog or a cat has loose stools, they lose large amounts of fluid. Dehydration leads to an imbalance of water and salts in the body. A normal balance is necessary for the body to function properly. If your dog or cat is vomiting, has loose stools or the weather is hot, their fluid balance may be affected.
