Proferm 1 kg. Proferm is a prebiotic and probiotic feed supplement developed specifically for horses. The product is made from fermented spelt bran, which can balance the horse's gut flora with lactic acid bacteria, yeast, antioxidants, enzymes and vitamins. A daily dose can strengthen the horse's gut flora and immune system, improve nutrient absorption and digestion and reduce the risk of gastrointestinal conditions and hoof and skin problems. Proferm is made from natural ingredients, has no withdrawal period prior to competition and often gives quick results. Many users have found it helpful with horses which have had long-term problems with diarrhoea, eczema, mud fever, stress-related behaviour or difficulty with recovery and putting on condition. Dosage: About 10 g per 100 kg of body weight per day. 50 g corresponds to about 250 ml. Start with a smaller dose and gradually increase over 1–2 weeks. Can be given wet or dry and mixed with feed and other feed supplements. No withdrawal period is required before competing.
