A bit that many horses will accept and go well in, especially young and sensitive horses. Before using a leather bit for the first time, rub vegetable oil into the leather. Repeat this when the leather starts to look dry. Remember to rinse the bit thoroughly after use as saliva can shorten the life of the leather. The leather is not suitable for horses that chew the bit. If you have a horse that chews the bit, the leather will not last as long. For this reason, the bit is not covered by a warranty or a guarantee if the damage has been caused by the horse chewing the bit. You can continue to use the bit without the leather covering.
